Andrew Yang Says Americans More Worried About Health Care, Education Than Impeaching Donald Trump

Presidential candidate Andrew Yang stated no voters are asking him in regards to the impeachment of President Donald Trump. And whereas he helps the method, he urged Democrats to give attention to well being care, baby care and “forward-thinking” matters which profit common Americans.

Yang reiterated his perception Sunday that Trump is simply a symptom, and never the trigger, of the issues which proceed to harm Americans of their on a regular basis lives. The tech entrepreneur touted his “Not Left, Not Right, But Forward” marketing campaign slogan to ABC News, saying the first motive Trump was elected in 2016 was his capitalizing on the lack of manufacturing jobs in a number of Midwest swing states. Yang emphasised that the Democratic Party should ask themselves the “hard questions” of why Trump is in workplace, but in addition should put their finest foot ahead by touting the training and local weather change points voters actually care about.

Yang stated Americans are extra apprehensive about baby and well being care prices than they’re about impeaching the president.

“It’s clear the reason why Donald Trump is our president today is that we automated away 4 million manufacturing jobs that were primarily based in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Missouri and Iowa – the swing states he needed to win,” Yang stated Sunday on This Week.

“And what we did to those jobs we are now going to do to the retail jobs, the call center jobs, the fast food jobs and eventually the truck-driving jobs. We have to have a new way forward that works for all Americans independent of your political affiliation. These problems are technological and apply to us all,” Yang continued.

Before touting his marketing campaign’s launch of a brand new well being care plan and his proposed incremental “move toward high quality universal health care,” Yang addressed Trump’s ongoing impeachment.

“I do support the impeachment process but voters don’t ask me about impeachment. They ask me about health care and child care and education and climate change. And the fact is we need 20 Republican senators to have a change of heart or a change of mind for impeachment to be successful. This strikes many Americans like a ball game where you know what the score is going to be,” Yang stated.

“And the Democratic Party, unfortunately, is acting like Donald Trump is the cause of all of our problems. He’s a symptom and we need to cure the underlying disease,” he added.

ABC News host Jon Karl pressed Yang to clarify if his reasoning is as a result of Democrats are “too tied to the left, too ideological,” whereas Republicans are too far to the best.

“Democrats have still not asked themselves the hard questions about why Donald Trump won in 2016. Where, if you look around the country you see 30 percent of stores and malls closing, you see record-high levels of stress and financial insecurity, student loan debt, even suicides and drug overdoses — these are the problems that voters talk to me about when I’m out there every single day,” Yang continued.

Yang repeatedly acknowledged that he and the opposite 2020 Democratic presidential candidates should be centered way more on “presenting a new and positive vision that Americans can get excited about.”
